The New York Giants topped the Washington Commanders 35-23 in a critical Week 3 matchup of the 2027 season. With both teams looking to establish momentum early in the year, the Giants emerged victorious, showcasing their offensive prowess while staving off a late Commanders rally. Giants quarterback Cam Skattebo led the charge on the ground, racking up 75 rushing yards to complement his team's balanced attack. Meanwhile, Washington's Jayden Daniels threw for 203 yards and connected for three touchdowns, making a strong case for his performance, but ultimately fell short. The standout receiving effort came from Trey McBride, who recorded 84 yards, giving the Commanders some life through the air. Defensively, the Giants made crucial stops, highlighted by Greg Newsome II's interception that shifted the momentum in the second half. Colton Hood's consistent tackling was key in limiting Washington's big plays, while Odafe Oweh's two sacks put pressure on Daniels during critical moments. The turning point came when New York's defense tightened in the red zone, forcing the Commanders to settle for field goals instead of touchdowns, ultimately sealing the game for the Giants.
