In a tightly contested matchup, the New York Jets narrowly defeated the Washington Commanders 19-13 in Week 4 of the 2031 season. The victory keeps the Jets on track for a strong season, while the Commanders will look to regroup after a tough loss at home. Brock Purdy led the Jets' offense with a solid performance, throwing for 267 yards, showcasing his ability to move the ball through the air. Jameson Williams was the standout receiver, racking up 100 receiving yards, while Breece Hall contributed on the ground with 51 rushing yards. Tyler Shough managed to throw one touchdown for Washington but struggled to keep pace with the Jets’ efficient passing game. Defensively, the Commanders were led by Brandon Finney Jr., who tallied eight total tackles, but it was Caesar Agasiva's 1.5 sacks that made a significant impact in pressuring Purdy. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when the Jets' defense held strong, preventing the Commanders from converting on a crucial fourth down, allowing New York to secure the win and control the clock.
