In a tightly contested battle, the Buffalo Bills narrowly defeated the Minnesota Vikings 16-7 in Week 9 of the 2026 season. With playoff implications on the line, both teams fought hard, but the Bills emerged victorious, showcasing their resilience on the road. Buffalo's offense was led by a standout performance from Khalil Shakir, who racked up 100 receiving yards, providing crucial support for quarterback Josh Allen. Meanwhile, James Cook III contributed significantly on the ground with 72 rushing yards, helping to keep the Bills' offense balanced and effective throughout the game. Kyler Murray of the Vikings did his best to keep pace, throwing for 188 yards and a touchdown, but it wasn't enough to secure a win. The game’s turning point came in the second half when the Bills' defense stiffened, forcing the Vikings into a series of three-and-outs. Despite a solid performance from Minnesota's Isaiah Rodgers Sr., who tallied eight tackles, the Bills managed to contain the Vikings' offensive rhythm. The defensive efforts of Buffalo ultimately sealed the win, allowing them to maintain their position in the playoff race.
