In a tightly contested matchup, the Atlanta Falcons topped the Houston Texans 14-9 in Week 8 of the 2031 season. With both teams vying for playoff positioning, the Falcons managed to hold off a late push from the Texans to secure the win and improve their standing in the league. Houston's Jordan McCoy led the passing game with 219 yards, but it was Atlanta's Howie Perry who found the end zone with a crucial touchdown. Kewan Lacy also had a standout performance on the ground for the Texans, rushing for 100 yards, while Nick Marsh contributed with 61 receiving yards, keeping the pressure on Atlanta's defense throughout the game. Defensively, Brevin Hamblin was a force for the Falcons, racking up eight total tackles to help stifle Houston's offense. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Taylor Jackson-Pierre recorded a pivotal sack for the Texans, but it was not enough to shift the momentum. The Falcons’ defense held firm, allowing them to secure the narrow victory and maintain their playoff hopes.
