In a tightly contested matchup, the New York Jets held off the Cleveland Browns with a final score of 17-10, securing a crucial victory in Week 5 of the 2026 season. Both teams came into the game looking to establish momentum, but it was the Jets who emerged victorious, showcasing their resilience on both sides of the ball. Offensively, the Jets leaned heavily on Breece Hall, who dominated the ground game with an impressive 199 rushing yards, helping to control the tempo of the game. Deshaun Watson of the Browns managed to throw for 141 yards and a touchdown, but his efforts weren't enough to overcome the Jets' strong performance. Meanwhile, Harold Fannin Jr. led the Browns in receiving with 49 yards, but Cleveland struggled to find consistency in their passing attack. Defensively, the Jets made a significant impact, highlighted by Demario Davis, who recorded eight total tackles, and David Bailey, who notched 1.5 sacks. A pivotal moment came when D'Angelo Ponds intercepted Watson, shifting the momentum firmly in favor of New York. This key defensive play not only stifled a potential scoring drive by the Browns but also energized the Jets, allowing them to maintain their lead and ultimately secure the win.
