The Washington Commanders topped the New England Patriots 27-14 in a pivotal Week 12 matchup that solidified their playoff aspirations. With both teams vying for postseason positioning, the Commanders delivered a commanding performance at home, showcasing their offensive firepower. Drew Allar was the standout performer for Washington, throwing for 305 yards and three touchdowns, while also adding 25 rushing yards to his total. He connected frequently with Antonio Williams, who racked up 102 receiving yards, making crucial plays that kept the Patriots’ defense on its heels. Allar's ability to move the ball through the air proved instrumental in the team's victory. Defensively, the Commanders made their mark with a key interception from Devin Sanchez that halted a potential scoring drive by New England. The turning point came late in the second quarter when Washington's defense stifled a Patriots drive, allowing Allar to extend the lead just before halftime. Despite the efforts of Patriots linebacker Omar Speights, who tallied six tackles, it was Washington's balanced attack and timely defensive plays that ultimately secured the win.
