In a thrilling Week 3 matchup, the San Francisco 49ers narrowly defeated the Arizona Cardinals 36-30, keeping their momentum strong in the early stages of the 2026 season. With both teams vying for crucial divisional positioning, the stakes were high as they battled for supremacy in the NFC West. Brock Purdy was the star for the 49ers, throwing for 297 yards and four touchdowns, showcasing his ability to deliver in clutch moments. His precision passing kept the Cardinals' defense on their toes, while Jeremiyah Love of the Cardinals added a solid 90 rushing yards to his team's efforts. Michael Wilson also stood out for Arizona, racking up 89 receiving yards, but it wasn’t enough to secure a win. Defensively, Fred Warner led the way for San Francisco with eight total tackles, anchoring a unit that came through when it mattered most. The game’s turning point came late in the fourth quarter, when a crucial sack by Ogbo Okoronkwo thwarted an Arizona drive, allowing the 49ers to maintain their slim lead and ultimately seal the victory. The defensive pressure throughout the game made it difficult for the Cardinals to find a rhythm, sealing San Francisco's hard-fought win.
