In a thrilling Week 17 showdown, the Houston Texans narrowly defeated the New York Jets with a final score of 36-33, solidifying their playoff positioning in the 2029 season. Both teams fought hard, but it was Houston's ability to execute in critical moments that ultimately made the difference. C.J. Stroud stole the spotlight for the Texans, throwing for an impressive 325 yards and four touchdowns, showcasing his elite passing ability. Dorian Fleming was his top target, racking up 105 receiving yards and providing the necessary big plays to keep the chains moving. While the Jets struggled to find offensive rhythm, Breece Hall managed only 25 rushing yards, indicating a tough day on the ground. Defensively, the Texans' Calen Bullock made a significant impact with three interceptions, turning the tide in favor of Houston at crucial junctures. Despite the Jets' efforts, including a solid performance from David Bailey with two sacks, they couldn't capitalize on their defensive plays. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Bullock's third interception halted a promising Jets drive, allowing the Texans to maintain their slim lead and secure the victory.
