In a tightly contested wildcard showdown, the Houston Texans topped the Las Vegas Raiders 20-12, securing their place in the next round of the playoffs. The stakes were high as both teams sought to advance, but it was the Texans who emerged victorious in this pivotal matchup of the 2029 season. C.J. Stroud led the Texans' offensive charge with a solid performance, throwing for 219 yards and maintaining composure under pressure. Kewan Lacy was a force on the ground, racking up 116 rushing yards, while George Pickens showcased his receiving prowess with 107 yards through the air. A crucial touchdown from Fernando Mendoza kept the Raiders competitive, but it wasn't enough to tip the scales. Defensively, the Texans managed to stifle the Raiders' attempts at a comeback, with consistent pressure and key stops throughout the game. Maxx Crosby's sack for Las Vegas highlighted their defensive efforts, but it was Nakobe Dean's seven tackles that signified the Raiders' struggle to find rhythm. The game's turning point came late in the fourth quarter when the Texans' defense forced a critical turnover, sealing the victory and sending Houston forward in the playoffs.
