The Detroit Lions secured a convincing 31-12 victory over the Arizona Cardinals in a crucial Week 5 matchup of the 2026 season. With this win, the Lions continue to assert their dominance in the league, aiming for a playoff spot as they build momentum heading into the latter part of the season. On the offensive side, Jared Goff led the Lions with two touchdown passes, showcasing his ability to efficiently manage the game. The Lions' ground attack was also impressive, contributing to their scoring with a balanced offensive effort. Meanwhile, Ty Simpson of the Cardinals put up solid numbers with 240 passing yards, but struggled to find the end zone, limiting his team's offensive potential. Defensively, the Lions demonstrated their prowess with a key interception from Kerby Joseph, which shifted the momentum in their favor. While the Cardinals’ Josh Sweat recorded two sacks, the Lions' defense consistently pressured Simpson, forcing him into tough throws and stalling drives. The turning point came late in the second quarter when Joseph's interception set up a quick Lions touchdown, effectively sealing the game and leaving the Cardinals unable to recover.
