In a decisive Week 1 matchup, the Minnesota Vikings topped the Green Bay Packers with a commanding 38-15 victory, showcasing their dominance right from the season's opening whistle. With playoff aspirations on the line early in the 2026 season, the Vikings made a statement against their division rivals, setting the tone for the weeks to come. Kyler Murray led the charge for Minnesota, throwing for three touchdowns and effectively orchestrating the offense. Jordan Mason complemented the passing attack with a stellar performance on the ground, racking up 129 rushing yards, while the Packers' Jordan Love threw for 282 yards, but struggled to find the end zone. Josh Jacobs was the standout receiver for Green Bay, accumulating 94 receiving yards, but it was ultimately not enough to keep pace with Minnesota's offensive firepower. Defensively, the Vikings were relentless, highlighted by Blake Cashman's impressive performance, which included six total tackles and an interception. The turning point of the game came when Cashman picked off a pass in the red zone, halting a potential scoring drive for the Packers and allowing Minnesota to extend their lead shortly after. With Andrew Van Ginkel adding two sacks, the Vikings' defense played a crucial role in stifling Green Bay's momentum and securing the victory.
