In a thrilling opener to the 2026 season, the Cleveland Browns topped the Jacksonville Jaguars with a final score of 33-29. Both teams entered the game looking to set the tone for the year, but it was the Browns who ultimately made the critical plays to secure the victory. Deshaun Watson was electric under center for Cleveland, throwing for 330 yards and three touchdowns, showcasing his ability to lead the offense efficiently. Jerry Jeudy was his favorite target, racking up 101 receiving yards and proving to be a constant threat downfield. While the Browns found success through the air, the Jaguars struggled to keep pace offensively, particularly in the running game. Defensively, the Browns made crucial stops, with Grant Delpit leading the team with five total tackles, while also applying pressure on Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence. Jacksonville's defense, led by Travon Walker's 1.5 sacks, did its best to disrupt Watson's rhythm, but it was a late interception by Jimmie Ward that ultimately kept the game in reach. However, the Browns' ability to respond in key moments was the defining factor in this closely contested matchup.
