The Atlanta Falcons kicked off the 2026 season with a solid 24-12 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Both teams were looking to establish momentum early, but it was the Falcons who emerged victorious in this Week 1 matchup, setting a strong tone for the season ahead. Michael Penix Jr. led the Falcons' offensive charge with an impressive 210 passing yards, while Bijan Robinson showcased his talent on the ground, racking up 87 rushing yards. The Steelers’ Drew Allar managed to throw for two touchdowns, but it wasn't enough to keep pace with Atlanta's balanced attack, which effectively controlled the game. On the defensive side, Gervon Dexter Sr. was a standout for the Falcons, recording 2.5 sacks that disrupted the Steelers' offensive rhythm. The turning point of the game came late in the second quarter when Dexter's pressure led to a pivotal turnover on downs, allowing Atlanta to extend their lead and maintain control throughout the second half. With strong defensive efforts and timely offensive plays, the Falcons secured a promising start to their season.
