In a thrilling Week 13 matchup, the New York Giants secured a 30-21 victory over the San Francisco 49ers, solidifying their playoff aspirations. This win not only boosts the Giants' confidence but also puts them in prime position as the season enters its final stretch. Brock Purdy showcased his skills for the 49ers, throwing for 236 yards and two touchdowns, proving to be a significant offensive force. However, it was Giants running back Cam Skattebo who stole the spotlight with a game-high 117 rushing yards, demonstrating a powerful ground game that kept the 49ers' defense on its heels. Mike Evans contributed for San Francisco with 72 receiving yards, but it wasn’t enough to swing the outcome. Defensively, the Giants made key plays that shifted momentum in their favor, particularly a crucial interception by Dru Phillips that halted a potential scoring drive by San Francisco. While the 49ers' Fred Warner led all players with nine tackles, it was the Giants' ability to create turnovers and pressure that ultimately sealed the victory. The turning point came in the fourth quarter when New York's defense stepped up, allowing them to maintain their lead and secure the win.
