In a tightly contested matchup, the Houston Texans emerged victorious over the Jacksonville Jaguars with a final score of 27-21 in Week 6 of the 2026 season. This win not only bolsters the Texans’ playoff aspirations but also serves as a critical momentum shift in their campaign. C.J. Stroud led the Texans offensively, throwing for 281 yards and managing the game effectively, while David Montgomery added a solid ground game with 74 rushing yards. For the Jaguars, Trevor Lawrence struggled to find consistency, tossing one touchdown but failing to match Stroud’s production. George Pickens was a bright spot for Jacksonville, racking up an impressive 118 receiving yards, though it ultimately wasn’t enough to secure the win. Defensively, the Texans made key plays that turned the tide in their favor. Derek Stingley Jr. spearheaded Houston's defense with seven total tackles, while Reed Blankenship's interception added to the Jaguars' frustrations. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when the Texans' defense held strong, stopping a potential game-tying drive by Jacksonville and sealing their victory.
