The Minnesota Vikings outlasted the New Orleans Saints with a final score of 45-31 in a high-stakes Week 5 matchup of the 2026 season. Both teams entered the game looking to solidify their positions in the playoff race, but it was the Vikings who emerged victorious, showcasing their offensive firepower. Kyler Murray was the star of the night for Minnesota, throwing for an impressive six touchdowns while leading his team to a commanding offensive performance. On the other side, Saints quarterback Tyler Shough put on a show of his own, racking up 429 passing yards and adding a rushing touchdown to his stat line. Juwan Johnson was a standout receiver for New Orleans, amassing 161 receiving yards, but his efforts fell short in the wake of the Vikings' explosive attack. Defensively, Minnesota made crucial plays to halt the Saints' momentum, with Theo Jackson grabbing an interception that shifted the game's tide. The Vikings' defense, led by Josh Metellus's four total tackles, held strong when it mattered most, allowing their offense to pull away. The turning point came late in the third quarter when Jackson's interception set up another quick touchdown, giving Minnesota a lead they would not relinquish.
