In a thrilling Week 17 matchup, the Green Bay Packers held off the Houston Texans with a final score of 21-16, solidifying their playoff position as the regular season nears its end. With their playoff hopes on the line, both teams fought fiercely, but it was the Packers who emerged victorious in this tightly contested battle. Jordan Love showcased his arm strength, throwing for an impressive 399 yards and keeping the Packers' offense in rhythm. Christian Watson was the standout receiver, racking up 200 yards, making crucial catches that kept Green Bay's drives alive. Josh Jacobs contributed on the ground with 69 rushing yards, adding balance to the Packers' offensive attack. Defensively, the Packers made their mark with Chris Jones leading the charge, recording 1.5 sacks that disrupted Houston's rhythm throughout the game. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Jones' pressure forced a key turnover, allowing Green Bay to seal the game and secure their victory. Despite a valiant effort from C.J. Stroud, who threw two touchdown passes for the Texans, it wasn’t enough to overcome the Packers' strong defensive performance.
