The Carolina Panthers secured a 31-21 victory over the Washington Commanders in a tightly contested Week 3 matchup of the 2027 season. With both teams looking to establish early momentum, this victory helps the Panthers solidify their position in the playoff race while leaving the Commanders searching for answers on both sides of the ball. Julian Sayin led the charge for Carolina, throwing for 272 yards and efficiently orchestrating the offense. Chuba Hubbard was a standout performer on the ground, racking up 138 rushing yards and providing a much-needed spark. On the opposing side, Jayden Daniels threw two touchdown passes, but it wasn’t enough to keep pace with the Panthers’ balanced attack. Defensively, the Panthers were able to make crucial stops, highlighted by Greg Rousseau’s sack that put pressure on Daniels during key moments of the game. The turning point came late in the third quarter when Carolina’s defense held the Commanders to a three-and-out, allowing Sayin and Hubbard to extend the lead. Although Nick Cross recorded a solid 10 tackles and an interception for Washington, it wasn’t sufficient to change the game’s outcome.
