In a hard-fought contest, the Pittsburgh Steelers narrowly defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 16-12, marking a crucial victory in Week 3 of the 2027 season. With playoff implications looming, both teams were eager to establish dominance early in the year, but it was the Steelers who emerged victorious in this defensive battle. Leading the charge for the Steelers was DK Metcalf, who showcased his skills with 60 receiving yards, providing key catches that kept Pittsburgh's offense moving. Meanwhile, Kansas City's Patrick Mahomes threw for 203 yards, but struggled to find the end zone, underscoring the effectiveness of the Steelers' defensive schemes. Kenneth Walker also contributed on the ground for the Chiefs with 52 rushing yards, but it was not enough to secure a win. Defensively, the game was highlighted by the Chiefs' Drue Tranquill, who recorded an impressive seven total tackles, showing up when it mattered most. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when R Mason Thomas sacked Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett, stalling a potential game-sealing drive. Ultimately, it was Pittsburgh's ability to capitalize on key moments that allowed them to hold off Kansas City and claim the victory.
