In a dominating display, the Los Angeles Rams defeated the Washington Commanders 45-7 in Week 9 of the 2026 season. This victory was crucial for the Rams as they continue to solidify their playoff positioning, showcasing their offensive firepower and defensive prowess against a struggling Commanders team. Quarterback Matthew Stafford led the charge with a stellar performance, throwing for 320 yards and five touchdowns, effectively orchestrating the Rams' offense. He found his favorite target, Puka Nacua, who had a jaw-dropping 280 receiving yards, while Kyren Williams added a strong ground game with 122 rushing yards, creating a balanced attack that overwhelmed Washington's defense. Defensively, the Rams were relentless, highlighted by Aaron Donald’s 1.5 sacks and an interception from Kamren Kinchens, which shifted momentum firmly in Los Angeles' favor. Jaylen Watson's four tackles contributed to a cohesive defensive effort that stifled any chance of a Commanders comeback. The game's turning point came early in the second quarter when Kinchens' interception set up another quick score, effectively sealing the outcome before halftime.
