In a thrilling Week 3 showdown, the Arizona Cardinals narrowly defeated the San Francisco 49ers with a final score of 45-42, solidifying their place in the early playoff picture. Both teams were looking to assert dominance in the division, but it was the Cardinals who came out on top in a high-scoring affair that kept fans on the edge of their seats. Brock Purdy of the 49ers had a standout performance, throwing for 408 yards and five touchdowns, showcasing his ability to lead the offense. However, it was Jeremiyah Love of the Cardinals who stole the spotlight on the ground, racking up an impressive 217 rushing yards that kept the 49ers' defense on its heels. De'Zhaun Stribling also made a significant impact for San Francisco, accumulating 145 receiving yards to complement Purdy's aerial assault. Defensively, the Cardinals made key plays that influenced the game’s outcome, with Budda Baker snagging an interception that halted a potential scoring drive for the 49ers. Andrew Wingard led the team with six total tackles, helping to contain San Francisco's potent offense, particularly during critical moments. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when the Cardinals' defense held strong, forcing a turnover that allowed them to seal the victory.
