In a highly anticipated Week 1 matchup of the 2026 season, the Seattle Seahawks topped the New England Patriots with a final score of 31-17. Both teams aimed to start the season strong, but it was Seattle that emerged victorious, showcasing their offensive prowess on home turf. Leading the way for the Seahawks was running back Jadarian Price, who rushed for an impressive 111 yards, making significant contributions in key moments of the game. Quarterback Drake Maye of the Patriots also had a solid outing, throwing for 271 yards and two touchdowns, but it wasn't enough to keep pace with Seattle's explosive offense. Meanwhile, Jaxon Smith-Njigba was a standout in the passing game, racking up 136 receiving yards and providing a vital target for his quarterback. Defensively, Seattle's performance was instrumental in securing the win, holding the Patriots to just 17 points. New England's Robert Spillane made his presence felt with 1.5 sacks, yet the Seahawks' ability to create turnovers and pressure the quarterback was the game’s turning point. Carlton Davis III's interception of Maye not only halted a promising drive but also shifted momentum decisively in Seattle's favor, allowing them to capitalize and extend their lead.
