The Tampa Bay Buccaneers topped the Atlanta Falcons with a final score of 28-13, solidifying their position in the playoff race as they head into the second half of the season. This Week 8 matchup was crucial for both teams, with the Buccaneers looking to maintain momentum while the Falcons aimed to stay in contention. Baker Mayfield was the standout performer for Tampa Bay, throwing for 248 yards and two touchdowns, showcasing his ability to lead the offense effectively. Bucky Irving complemented the aerial attack with a strong ground game, racking up 98 rushing yards, while Ted Hurst III contributed significantly through the air with 85 receiving yards, helping to keep the Falcons' defense on their heels. Defensively, the Buccaneers made their presence felt, with Vita Vea leading the charge by tallying 1.5 sacks, disrupting Atlanta's offensive rhythm. The game's turning point came in the second quarter when Tampa Bay's defense stifled a critical Falcons drive, allowing the Buccaneers to extend their lead and control the tempo for the remainder of the contest. Divine Deablo's 10 tackles for Atlanta kept them competitive, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Buccaneers' balanced attack.
