In a crucial Week 4 showdown, the Detroit Lions topped the Carolina Panthers with a final score of 35-24, solidifying their position in the early season standings. Both teams were looking to gain momentum, but it was the Lions who emerged victorious, showcasing their offensive prowess. Max Duggan was the standout performer for Detroit, throwing for an impressive 315 yards and four touchdown passes, demonstrating his command of the offense. Amon-Ra St. Brown was his favorite target, racking up 128 receiving yards, while Jahmyr Gibbs contributed on the ground, albeit with just 20 rushing yards. This offensive firepower proved too much for the Panthers to handle. Defensively, the Lions were anchored by Aidan Hutchinson, who recorded a sack and helped pressure the Carolina quarterback throughout the game. Christian Izien led the team with two total tackles, contributing to a solid performance on that side of the ball. The turning point came in the second quarter when Detroit scored consecutive touchdowns, putting them ahead and forcing the Panthers to play catch-up for the remainder of the game.
