In a decisive matchup, the Indianapolis Colts topped the Washington Commanders 21-9 in Week 4 of the 2026 season. The victory solidifies the Colts' position in the playoff race, while the Commanders will need to regroup after a tough outing on their home turf. Leading the charge for the Colts was quarterback Anthony Richardson Sr., who threw for 209 yards and two touchdowns, showcasing his ability to command the offense. Running back Jonathan Taylor contributed significantly with 86 rushing yards, while Tyler Warren added a solid receiving performance with 64 yards. This offensive cohesion proved too much for the Commanders to handle. On the defensive side, the Commanders were led by Jer'Zhan Newton, who recorded eight total tackles and a sack, but the overall defensive effort fell short. The pivotal moment came when the Colts scored their second touchdown, widening the gap to 21-6, forcing Washington to play catch-up for the remainder of the game. Despite an interception by Jack Campbell, the Commanders couldn't capitalize on the turnover, ultimately sealing their fate in this contest.
