In a tightly contested battle in Week 18 of the 2026 season, the Detroit Lions topped the Green Bay Packers 23-17, clinching a crucial victory to seal their playoff aspirations. With both teams vying for postseason positioning, every play mattered in this gripping showdown. Jared Goff led the Lions' offense with a solid performance, throwing for 262 yards while Isaac TeSlaa emerged as his primary target, racking up 93 receiving yards. On the other side, Jordan Love connected for one passing touchdown but struggled to find consistency, finishing with fewer yards than Goff. Josh Jacobs carried the ground game for the Packers, contributing 58 rushing yards, but it wasn't enough to shift the momentum in favor of Green Bay. Defensively, the Lions were relentless, with Brian Branch leading the way with 10 total tackles and Kerby Joseph snagging an interception that proved pivotal. The turning point came in the fourth quarter when Joseph's pick halted a promising Packers drive, allowing the Lions to maintain their lead and ultimately secure the win. Micah Parsons added pressure with a sack for the Packers, but it wasn't enough to overcome Detroit's strong defensive stand.
