In a tightly contested matchup, the Las Vegas Raiders narrowly defeated the New Orleans Saints 27-21 in Week 3 of the 2026 season. With both teams aiming to build momentum early in the season, this victory for the Raiders solidifies their position as a contender in the AFC. Raiders quarterback Fernando Mendoza was the standout performer, throwing for three touchdowns to lead his team to victory. The passing game was complemented by a solid performance from the Saints’ Tyler Shough, who threw for 278 yards, keeping the game competitive. Saints receiver Chris Olave also made an impact, racking up 106 receiving yards, but it wasn't enough to clinch the win. Defensively, the Raiders were led by Jeremy Chinn, who tallied seven total tackles, playing a crucial role in stifling the Saints' offensive efforts. The game’s turning point came in the fourth quarter when Mendoza connected with his receivers in critical moments, extending drives that ultimately sealed the game for Las Vegas. Despite Chase Young's impressive 1.5 sacks for New Orleans, the Raiders' defense held firm when it mattered most, securing the victory.
