In a commanding performance, the Minnesota Vikings defeated the Green Bay Packers 31-0 in Week 1 of the 2026 season. The Vikings aimed to set the tone for the year, and they did just that, showcasing dominance on both sides of the ball. Offensively, the Packers struggled to find any rhythm, with Tyrod Taylor leading the way but managing only 30 passing yards. Josh Jacobs was the standout performer on the ground, racking up 70 rushing yards, while Matthew Golden contributed 23 receiving yards, but the lack of explosive plays hampered Green Bay's efforts throughout the game. Defensively, the Vikings were relentless, with Dallas Turner leading the charge by recording three sacks and three total tackles. Isaiah Rodgers Sr. made his mark with two interceptions, significantly disrupting the Packers’ passing attack. The turning point came early in the second quarter when the Vikings forced a crucial turnover, allowing them to take control and never look back, solidifying their season opener with an impressive shutout.
