In a thrilling Week 9 showdown, the Portland Raging Bulls narrowly defeated the Charleston Egrets by a score of 56-54. With both teams vying for playoff positioning, this matchup proved pivotal as the Raging Bulls managed to outlast a fierce challenge from the Egrets. Josh Allen of the Egrets delivered a remarkable performance, throwing for 441 yards and 6 touchdowns, showcasing his elite passing ability. However, it was Ashton Jeanty of the Raging Bulls who stole the show on the ground, racking up an impressive 277 rushing yards, which was critical in keeping the Egrets' defense on its heels. Dawson Knox also contributed significantly for Charleston, amassing 120 receiving yards to keep the game competitive. Defensively, the Raging Bulls made key plays that swayed the outcome. Jacob Rodriguez recorded two sacks, disrupting Allen's rhythm and applying constant pressure throughout the game. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Portland's defense forced a crucial turnover, allowing them to maintain their lead and secure the victory. Despite the strong showing from the Egrets' Antonio Johnson, who snagged two interceptions, it wasn't enough to overcome the Bulls' late-game heroics.
