In a thrilling shootout, the Comfort Comfort Bobcat outlasted Santa Ana Mater Dei with a final score of 58-51, solidifying their position in the playoff race as the season heads into the final stretch. Both teams showcased explosive offenses, but ultimately, the Bobcat's offensive firepower proved too much for Mater Dei to handle. Dak Prescott was the standout performer for the Bobcat, throwing for an impressive 501 yards and setting a new franchise record with eight touchdown passes. Meanwhile, Santa Ana's Keaton Mitchell made a significant impact on the ground with 212 rushing yards, while Matthew Golden added a remarkable 185 receiving yards, keeping the pressure on Comfort throughout the game. Defensively, Carlton Davis III led the way for the Bobcat with six tackles, contributing to a unit that made key stops when it mattered most. The game's turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Prescott's connection with his receivers opened up a crucial lead, allowing the Bobcat to hold off a valiant comeback effort from Mater Dei. Despite strong defensive performances, including 2.5 sacks from Brian Burns, Santa Ana couldn't convert on their final drives, sealing the victory for Comfort.
