In a pivotal Week 17 matchup, the Jacksonville Jaguars secured a 33-21 victory over the Washington Commanders, solidifying their playoff positioning as the regular season nears its end. With both teams vying for momentum, the stakes were high, and Jacksonville rose to the occasion on their home turf. Trevor Lawrence was the standout performer for the Jaguars, throwing for an impressive 387 yards and three touchdowns, showcasing his ability to command the offense. Parker Washington emerged as his favorite target, racking up 188 receiving yards and consistently finding space in the Commanders’ secondary. Meanwhile, the ground game was less impactful, but the Jaguars' passing attack was more than enough to carry the day. Defensively, the Jaguars made crucial plays that shifted the momentum in their favor. Jarrian Jones intercepted a pass, halting a potential scoring drive from Washington and giving Jacksonville an important advantage. Although the Commanders' Sonny Styles led the game with nine tackles and Daron Payne recorded a sack, it was the Jaguars' ability to create turnovers and pressure the quarterback that proved decisive in this contest.
