In a dominating performance, the Kansas City Chiefs trounced the New York Jets 52-17 in Week 9 of the 2026 season. The victory not only solidified the Chiefs' position in the playoff race but also showcased their explosive offense against a struggling Jets squad. Patrick Mahomes was nothing short of spectacular, throwing for 483 yards and six touchdowns, establishing himself as the game's standout quarterback. Xavier Worthy was his favorite target, racking up 170 receiving yards, while Malik Willis led the Jets with 77 rushing yards, but it was clear that the Chiefs’ aerial assault was too much for New York to handle. Defensively, the Chiefs were relentless, with Ashton Gillotte recording three sacks and JT Woods making a game-changing impact with four interceptions. The turning point came in the second quarter when Woods picked off a pass deep in Jets territory, leading to a quick touchdown that swung momentum firmly in favor of Kansas City. The combination of an explosive offense and a stifling defense proved too much for the Jets, as the Chiefs cruised to a convincing victory.
