In a decisive Week 6 matchup, the Washington Commanders topped the San Francisco 49ers with a final score of 48-27, solidifying their position in the playoff race. The Commanders dominated the field, showcasing their offensive prowess and capitalizing on key moments throughout the game. Hendon Hooker of the 49ers had a strong performance, throwing for 319 yards and three touchdowns, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Commanders' dynamic attack. Jacory Croskey-Merritt led the ground game for Washington with 64 rushing yards, while the receiving corps kept the pressure on with consistent catches to maintain scoring momentum. On the defensive side, the Commanders made their presence felt, highlighted by Trey Amos’s eight total tackles and Odafe Oweh's two sacks, which disrupted the 49ers' rhythm. A pivotal moment came in the second half when Sonny Styles intercepted a pass, setting up a key touchdown drive that put Washington firmly in control. The Commanders' defense proved to be the difference-maker, as they stifled San Francisco's attempts to mount a comeback.
