In a commanding display, the Green Bay Packers toppled the Minnesota Vikings with a final score of 57-24 in Week 1 of the 2026 season. Both teams entered the game eager to set the tone for the year, but it was the Packers who made a resounding statement. Quarterback Jordan Love led the charge for Green Bay, throwing for an impressive 381 yards and an astounding eight touchdowns, showcasing his lethal accuracy and decision-making. Christian Watson emerged as his top target, racking up 203 receiving yards and finding the end zone multiple times, while Demond Claiborne put forth a valiant effort for the Vikings with 114 rushing yards, though it wasn’t enough to keep pace. The Packers' defense played a crucial role in the blowout, with Lukas Van Ness disrupting the Vikings' rhythm, recording 2.5 sacks, and Benjamin St-Juste sealing the game with two interceptions. The turning point came in the second quarter when Love connected with Watson for a deep touchdown, igniting a scoring spree that Minnesota could never recover from. With this dominant performance, Green Bay looks poised for a strong season ahead.
