In a dominant showing to kick off the 2026 season, the Chicago Bears defeated the Carolina Panthers 24-0, setting the tone for what they hope will be a successful campaign. With both teams eager to start strong, the Bears proved they were the more prepared squad, showcasing their talent on both sides of the ball. Quarterback Caleb Williams led the charge for Chicago, throwing for 327 yards and two touchdowns, while wide receiver Rome Odunze emerged as his top target, racking up an impressive 172 receiving yards. The Bears’ offense was efficient and effective, consistently moving the ball and keeping the Panthers' defense on their heels throughout the game. Defensively, the Bears were relentless, with standout performances from David Ojabo, who recorded 1.5 sacks, and Jaylon Johnson, who snagged an interception. The turning point came early in the second half when Johnson's interception halted a Panthers drive, allowing Chicago to extend their lead and firmly establish control over the game. The Bears’ defense not only held Carolina scoreless but also disrupted their rhythm, ensuring a clean sheet in their season opener.
