The Tennessee Titans opened the 2027 season with a commanding 35-10 victory over the New England Patriots. This matchup set the tone for both teams, as the Titans aimed to establish dominance in the league while the Patriots sought to rebound from a disappointing previous season. Cam Ward was the standout performer for Tennessee, throwing for 201 yards and three touchdowns, showcasing his ability to lead the offense effectively. Puka Nacua emerged as his favorite target, racking up a remarkable 122 receiving yards, making crucial catches that extended drives and added to the scoreboard. Meanwhile, the Patriots struggled offensively, with TreVeyon Henderson managing only 16 rushing yards, a testament to the Titans' defensive pressure. Defensively, the Titans were equally impressive, led by Kevin Winston Jr., who made three total tackles. The game-changing moment came when Anthony Hill Jr. intercepted a pass, halting a potential Patriots scoring drive and shifting momentum firmly in Tennessee's favor. Milton Williams of the Patriots did his best to keep the game competitive with two sacks, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Titans’ offensive onslaught.
