The San Francisco 49ers outlasted the Chicago Bears with a final score of 21-7 in Week 2 of the 2027 season. This victory solidifies the 49ers' early-season momentum as they continue to establish themselves as a contender in the league. Meanwhile, the Bears will need to regroup quickly to improve their standing. Brock Purdy was the standout performer for San Francisco, throwing for 202 yards and three touchdowns, showcasing his ability to command the offense effectively. De'Zhaun Stribling was his primary target, racking up 105 receiving yards and providing key plays that kept the chains moving. While the Bears' Isaac Brown led the ground game with 53 rushing yards, it was the 49ers' passing attack that ultimately made the difference. Defensively, the 49ers were relentless, with Fred Warner leading the charge with four total tackles and Renardo Green contributing with a crucial interception that halted any momentum the Bears were building. The turning point came when Green's pick shifted the game back in favor of the 49ers, allowing them to extend their lead and maintain control throughout the second half. Jonathan Greenard's lone sack for Chicago was not enough to shift the tide, as the 49ers' defense held strong when it mattered most.
