In a dominating performance, the Carolina Panthers topped the Detroit Lions 35-7 in Week 7 of the 2027 season. This victory was crucial for the Panthers as they look to solidify their playoff positioning, while the Lions struggled to find momentum. Carolina's Dante Moore took control of the game, throwing for an impressive 332 yards and five touchdowns, showcasing his ability to stretch the field and connect with his receivers. Xavier Legette was the standout target, racking up 187 receiving yards, making key catches that contributed heavily to the Panthers' offensive explosion. On the ground, Jahmyr Gibbs led the Lions with 78 rushing yards, but it wasn’t enough to keep pace with Carolina's offensive onslaught. Defensively, the Panthers made significant plays to stifle the Lions' attempts to rally. Tre'von Moehrig’s interception was a pivotal moment, halting any hope of a Detroit comeback and allowing Carolina to maintain their commanding lead. With Trevin Wallace also contributing with a sack, the Panthers' defense effectively controlled the game, ensuring that the Lions could never find their rhythm.
