In a high-scoring showdown, the Seattle Seahawks triumphed over the Washington Commanders with a final score of 50-35, solidifying their position early in the 2026 season. This Week 3 clash showcased the offensive firepower of both teams, but it was Seattle that ultimately emerged victorious, improving their record with a strong performance. Leading the charge for the Seahawks was quarterback Sam Darnold, who threw for an impressive 356 yards and three touchdowns, showcasing his ability to stretch the field. Jaxon Smith-Njigba was his favorite target, reeling in 222 receiving yards, a performance that played a crucial role in Seattle's offensive dominance. The duo consistently connected, putting Washington's defense on its heels throughout the contest. Defensively, the Seahawks made key plays that shifted the momentum in their favor, with Derick Hall contributing significantly by recording two sacks. While the Commanders' Kool-Aid McKinstry managed to secure an interception, it wasn't enough to counter Seattle's relentless offensive attack. The turning point came late in the second quarter when the Seahawks scored back-to-back touchdowns, effectively putting the game out of reach for Washington and sealing their commanding victory.
