In a solid opening matchup of the 2026 season, the Los Angeles Chargers secured a 21-10 victory over the Arizona Cardinals. This win sets a promising tone for the Chargers as they look to build momentum in their quest for a playoff spot. Meanwhile, the Cardinals will need to regroup quickly to bounce back from this early setback. Justin Herbert was the standout performer for Los Angeles, throwing for 227 yards and two touchdowns, showcasing his ability to lead the offense effectively. He connected with David Njoku for 95 receiving yards, solidifying their chemistry and providing a reliable target throughout the game. Jeremiyah Love of the Cardinals put forth a commendable effort on the ground with 75 rushing yards, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Chargers' offensive firepower. Defensively, the Chargers made key plays that shifted the game's momentum, highlighted by Derwin James Jr.'s interception. Akheem Mesidor also contributed with a sack that disrupted the Cardinals' rhythm at crucial moments. The turning point came late in the second quarter when Herbert's second touchdown pass extended the lead to two scores, leaving Arizona chasing the game and unable to regain control.
