In a nail-biting contest, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers narrowly defeated the Dallas Cowboys 23-20 in Week 5 of the 2026 season. Both teams were vying for crucial positioning in the playoff race, making this matchup a must-win for their postseason aspirations. Dak Prescott put on a strong performance for the Cowboys, throwing for 277 yards and a touchdown, while Javonte Williams led the ground attack with 92 rushing yards. George Pickens emerged as Prescott's primary target, racking up an impressive 127 receiving yards, keeping the Dallas offense competitive throughout the game. On the defensive side, Vita Vea was a standout for Tampa Bay, recording 1.5 sacks that helped disrupt Prescott's rhythm. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Vea's pressure led to a critical turnover, allowing the Buccaneers to maintain their lead and secure the victory. Shavon Revel Jr. made his mark for the Cowboys with eight tackles, but it wasn't enough to change the outcome as Tampa Bay's defense held firm when it mattered most.
