Defensively, the Colts made a significant impact with Charvarius Ward Sr leading the charge, recording seven total tackles and an interception that put the Colts in a position to score. Laiatu Latu also made his presence felt, notching 2.5 sacks to pressure the Chiefs' offense. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter, when a key interception by Ward shifted momentum back to the Colts, but ultimately, they could not capitalize, allowing the Chiefs to hold on for the win.
