The Denver Broncos opened the 2026 season with a commanding 35-7 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs, establishing an early statement in the division. With both teams eager to start strong, the Broncos showcased their dominance, leaving the Chiefs struggling to keep pace throughout the game. Quarterback Bo Nix led the charge for Denver, throwing for 148 yards and a touchdown while managing the offense with precision. Meanwhile, Jonah Coleman was a force on the ground, racking up 78 rushing yards to keep the Chiefs' defense on its heels. Despite the Chiefs' Rashee Rice impressively leading all receivers with 96 yards, the Broncos' balanced attack proved too much to handle. Defensively, the Broncos were relentless, with Jonathon Cooper recording an impressive three sacks, disrupting any momentum the Chiefs hoped to build. Pat Surtain II made his mark with two crucial interceptions, effectively sealing the game for Denver and shifting the momentum in their favor. The game turned decisively in the first half when the Broncos scored unanswered points, leaving the Chiefs unable to respond effectively.
