In a hard-fought season opener, the Pittsburgh Steelers topped the Atlanta Falcons 20-13, kicking off the 2026 campaign with a win. Both teams entered with high expectations, but it was the Steelers who managed to seize control in crucial moments of the game. Pittsburgh's offense was led by quarterback Joe Milton, who threw for 221 yards and two touchdowns, showcasing his ability to connect with his targets under pressure. Receiver Roman Wilson also made a significant impact, racking up 77 receiving yards and providing key plays that kept the chains moving. Meanwhile, Bijan Robinson was the standout for the Falcons with 79 rushing yards, attempting to carry his team but ultimately falling short. On the defensive side, Jalen Ramsey of the Steelers was a force, totaling eight tackles and helping to stifle the Falcons' offensive efforts throughout the game. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when the Steelers’ defense held strong, forcing a critical turnover that allowed them to maintain their lead and secure the victory. Pittsburgh's balanced attack, combined with their defensive prowess, set the tone for what promises to be an exciting season ahead.
