In a tightly contested matchup, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers narrowly defeated the Chicago Bears 21-17 in Week 9 of the 2026 season. With playoff implications on the line, both teams fought hard, but it was the Buccaneers who came out on top, solidifying their position in the postseason race. Baker Mayfield led the Buccaneers' offense with 177 passing yards, showcasing a steady performance under pressure. Meanwhile, D'Andre Swift of the Bears dominated on the ground, racking up an impressive 205 rushing yards, but it was Ted Hurst III's standout receiving effort of 129 yards that helped Tampa Bay secure crucial first downs at key moments. The game turned in the Buccaneers' favor thanks to a critical defensive stand, highlighted by Rueben Bain Jr.'s sack that halted a potential Bears scoring drive. Although the Bears' Kyler Gordon made a significant impact with two interceptions, Tampa Bay's defense held firm when it mattered most, allowing them to outlast Chicago and clinch the victory.
