The Tennessee Titans narrowly defeated the Houston Texans 27-21 in a closely contested Week 5 matchup of the 2026 season. With playoff aspirations on the line, both teams entered the game looking to solidify their positions in the AFC standings. Titans quarterback Cam Ward delivered an impressive performance, throwing for 377 yards and three touchdowns, showcasing his ability to connect with his receivers downfield. His precision passing was pivotal in keeping the Titans' offense dynamic, while Nico Collins of the Texans put on a show of his own, racking up 178 receiving yards despite the loss. Woody Marks contributed on the ground for Houston, rushing for 61 yards, but it wasn’t enough to propel his team to victory. Defensively, the game featured key plays that shifted momentum. Alontae Taylor’s interception for the Titans proved crucial in halting a Texans drive late in the game, allowing Tennessee to maintain their lead. Jack Campbell of the Texans was a standout on defense with nine total tackles, while Leo Chenal added 1.5 sacks, but ultimately, it was the Titans’ timely defensive plays that sealed the win.
