In a closely contested matchup, the Carolina Panthers narrowly defeated the Detroit Lions 28-22 in Week 4 of the 2026 season. Both teams were looking to solidify their position in the standings, but it was the Panthers who emerged victorious in a game that showcased their offensive firepower. Bryce Young led the charge for Carolina, throwing for an impressive 375 yards and two touchdowns, demonstrating his ability to stretch the field effectively. His favorite target, Tetairoa McMillan, was a standout performer with 156 receiving yards, making key catches that kept drives alive and put points on the board for the Panthers. Meanwhile, Jahmyr Gibbs was the bright spot for Detroit, leading his team with 44 rushing yards but unable to find the end zone. Defensively, the Panthers made crucial plays that altered the course of the game. Will Lee III recorded five total tackles, anchoring the defense, while Mike Jackson's interception proved to be a pivotal moment, halting a Lions drive and shifting momentum back to Carolina. The Panthers' ability to make key stops and capitalize on opportunities was the difference-maker, allowing them to hold off the late-game surge from Detroit and secure the win.
