The Indianapolis Colts narrowly defeated the Washington Commanders 14-7 in a tightly contested Week 4 matchup of the 2026 season. With both teams looking to establish momentum, the stakes were high, particularly for the Colts, who aimed to solidify their position in the playoff race. Offensively, the Colts were led by a dominant performance from running back Jonathan Taylor, who racked up an impressive 227 rushing yards, consistently breaking through the Commanders' defense. Quarterback Daniel Jones contributed with 121 passing yards, managing the game effectively while throwing no interceptions. On the other side, Jayden Daniels connected for one passing touchdown but struggled to find his rhythm against a stout Colts defense. Defensively, the Colts made their mark with Sauce Gardner's key interception, which helped shift the momentum in their favor. Although the Commanders' Jalen Pitre tallied four total tackles and Odafe Oweh recorded a sack, the inability to contain Taylor proved crucial. The game's turning point came late in the second half when the Colts' defense tightened up, stifling the Commanders' attempts to mount a comeback and sealing their victory.
