In a thrilling season opener, the New York Giants narrowly defeated the Dallas Cowboys 24-21, showcasing a fierce battle between two rivals. Both teams were eager to make a statement as the 2026 season kicked off, but it was the Giants who ultimately came out on top in a hard-fought contest. Jaxson Dart proved to be the star of the day for New York, throwing for 232 yards and three touchdowns, leading his team to victory. Cam Skattebo added a solid performance on the ground with 78 rushing yards, while Isaiah Likely was a reliable target, racking up 83 receiving yards. Meanwhile, Dak Prescott led the Cowboys' offense with 252 passing yards but fell short in the end. Defensively, the Giants stepped up when it mattered most, with Deonte Banks leading the way with five total tackles. The game turned in favor of New York when they managed to hold off a late-game drive by the Cowboys, thanks to crucial defensive stands that prevented any scoring in the final minutes. Rashan Gary's sack on Prescott earlier in the game also highlighted the defensive intensity, but it was the Giants' resilience that ultimately sealed the deal.
