In a decisive Week 1 matchup, the Pittsburgh Steelers took down the Atlanta Falcons with a final score of 24-11, kicking off the 2026 season with a strong performance. The game was crucial for both teams, as they aimed to establish momentum early in the year. Pittsburgh's offense was spearheaded by veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who threw for 244 yards and three touchdowns, showcasing his signature accuracy and poise under pressure. Jaylen Warren contributed on the ground with 44 rushing yards, but it was the aerial attack that truly set the tone for the Steelers. Despite a solid effort from Atlanta's Kyle Pitts Sr, who recorded 85 receiving yards, the Falcons struggled to keep pace with Pittsburgh's scoring. Defensively, the Steelers were relentless, with Alex Highsmith leading the charge. Highsmith recorded four total tackles, including three sacks, wreaking havoc in the backfield and disrupting Atlanta's offensive flow. The turning point came in the second quarter when Highsmith's pressure forced a critical turnover, allowing Pittsburgh to capitalize and extend their lead. This defensive dominance was key to the Steelers' successful season opener.
